Our new look is here 09/13/06 !
We’ve just launched our first series of pages with the new WebRing look! You’ll see an updated look on pages that the public has access to. We have yet to make changes to any page where you are required to sign in—so there are no changes on ring management and site management pages in this launch.
As we’ve mentioned in our newsletters, we are not changing the functionality of the system, just fixing it up and making the copy easier to read. You’ll see some inconsistencies, and because this is a staggered series of launches, you’ll see both old and new pages in the course of your everyday activities.
Please post your comments about the changes and anything you see that needs fixing in the General Members forum. We want and need your feedback!
Please post these comments separately from other system-related issues. Any system issues and other topics not related to your comments on the new pages should be posted with titles specific to the issue or problem.
The Ring Managers forum is really for ring managers, so we’ll look in the General Members forum for your comments.
WebRing is WebRing because of your participation and involvement. Thanks for your patience, for your support, and for all those “eagle eyes” that will catch errors we may have missed!
The WebRing Team
I miss the "how many members" from the "hub" in the navpanel!
Was it there before?
The number of members in the ring appears in 2 separate spots...at the top of every hub page before the site listing and on the left hand side of your Ring Info tab.
Yes, the section you are referring to has been removed, but these other spots have always been there.
Hope that helps answer your question.
"Every" hub page? I don't think so!
We look at through the eyes of the casual visitor to WebRing - he clicks "next site" for the start, likes what he sees and clicks "hub" - and sees what the others are doing!
The hub displayed -there- didn't display "members of the webring."
The "prev 10" and "next 10" goes on ad-finitem!
What if He/She desires to see if the webring is suitable to join?
It doesn't matter, really, but please believe me that it occurs!
Oh! I like the revamp of the pages, everything is apparently in the right place!!!!
1) A bug with the new look. Looks much nicer, but it is a static resolution. Us older folk can not read the fine print of 1024 x 768 and have to use 800 x 600 or worse.
2)You sound as if we are posting in the wrong form, but it is not evident as to how to change forms, nor how to get to the forms for that matter. The only link I find is in that email you sent with a link to this form.
It's at the bottom right of the page. If you sue 800 by 600 or have browser add-ons then the links at the bottom are not readily visible.
Use the Accessibility options that came with your computer (under control Panel) to control the font size.
Thanks found the button. However on the 800 x 600, your serving just text, why wouldn't you want it accessable to a wider audience; especialy when it is so simple?
Many people don't like small text and deliberately enlarge their screens. You could drive yourself nuts trying to please everyone.
Perhaps the open graphics should be sjut a wee bit smaller so the menu at the bottom is easily visible.
That's a good suggestion.
