Pulling out of Webring
I might tell my friends about the "new look" webring, but it won't be good news. It's like you've thrown a wet blanket over the system. It's a shame because the original idea was brilliant and it used to work so well. Now it's like wading through treacle. You used to be able to click on a link and go straight to that site: now the site opens in an iframe if your browser supports it, otherwise you're stuffed.
The ring avatars used to be a standard size. Now anything goes so if your site belongs to several rings it can look very untidy. All you have to do is keep it simple like it used to be. We don't need lots of flashy tools, just a system that works with any browser on any platform whether it be Linux, Unix, RISC OS, MacOS or whatever.
